Web design requires a multitude of skills rarely found in a single individual. My skills and experience lie in three main areas: design, content, and business/communications.

Design

Art Director - Web
Determines the look-and-feel of the entire site. Creates original graphics and icons for use on the site. Implements the web design parameters, style guides and visual standards. Establishes and produces graphic material for use in advertising and promotion of online services and products. Requires a bachelor's degree with at least 4 years of experience in the field. Generally manages a group of exempt and nonexempt employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager.

Web Designer, Sr
Designs and constructs web pages/sites including incorporating graphic user interface (GUI) features and other techniques. Maintains and provides ongoing design of the website, promos and ad banners, seasonal content specials and custom chat launcher design for partners. May require a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. Typically reports to a project leader or manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.

Designer III - Web
Produces graphic sketches, designs, and copy layouts for online content. Determines size and arrangement of illustrative material and copy, selects style and size of type, and arranges layout based upon available space, knowledge of layout principles, and aesthetic design concepts. May require an associate's degree or its equivalent and at least 4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. Typically reports to a manager. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.


Content

Managing Editor - Web
Designs and develops online content of a magazine/journal. Establishes journalistic style of magazine. Supervises writers, freelancers, and research assistants. Manages the schedules, writing, and editing functions of the magazine. Coordinates with the in-house production team on the layout of the magazine/journal. Requires a bachelor's degree. May be expected to have an advanced degree in business management with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Generally manages a group of exempt and nonexempt employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager or the CEO.

Editor - Web
Writes, edits, proofreads, and copyedits a variety of documents. Plans and prepares stories for online dissemination. Prepares articles from knowledge of topic and editorial position of publication, supplemented by additional study and research. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision; typically reports to a supervisor or manager. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required.

Writer III - Web
Researches and writes online content for a company's web site. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May direct and lead the work of others. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.


Business/Communications

Business Development Director
Directs, establishes, maintains, and plans the overall policies and goals for a business development department. Identifies potential business partners and negotiates agreements. May coordinate and negotiate with the product development, marketing and/or sales group. Requires a bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 7 years of experience in the field. Generally manages a group of business development professionals and/or software developers. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to an executive.

Producer - Web
Directs the creative direction for a program using independent judgment to choose stories, allocate production resources and adapt to change when necessary. Requires a bachelor's degree. May be expected to have an advanced degree in a related area and at least 3 years of experience in the field. Generally manages exempt and nonexempt employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior producer.

Creative Director - Web
Advances the overall quality of strategic thinking and design applied technology. Develops creative briefs and design concepts to meet the business objectives of the organization. Requires a bachelor's degree. May be expected to have an advanced degree in business management with at least 5 years of experience in the field. Generally manages a group of exempt and nonexempt employees. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Typically reports to a senior manager.
